oooh ...it's confirmed FFVII Advent Children will, in fact, be an hour long movie. This story is supposed to take place 2 years after the FFVII game although sephiroth died in that one. All the same I can't wait. Aaaahhhh ...October, my favorite month. There's a lot to like about October; The beginning of fall, Halloween, the heat finally dropping off, Halloween, falling leaves, and Halloween. Man Candy galore it's gonna rox. Anywho ...I've decided to festive up devil boy there, and it seems to work, so I'll try to holliday him up like for x-mas and halloween, and july 4 ...stuff like that.

Now for something a lil different. I have a present from the tooth fairy regarding NBA Ballers. I must say that game is gonna rock nuts man. Still though to be fair, let's do a lil comparison. Most fun NBA game ever? (IMHO) NBA Jam. Why? Because it's fast paced, not a lot of bullshit, and fun. I think Ballers has that very potential. I'm including some screenshots I recieved from said tooth fairy. She left em under my pillow last night... ;-) These are IN GAME images of 2 of the players ...check it ...make up your own mind ...but I'm tellin ya ..it's pretty ...it's oh so pretty.

I recently met come really nice folks over at WSIM Radio. I thought their station was good enough to plug here. :) no seriously it's good listening, plus any radio station that playes more that 80% of their track selections by request alone is ok in my book. Of course it doesn't hurt that one fo the DJs hangs in our chat channel (#videogames on efnet) in IRC. So Shouts go out to Mike-F (DJ Jeff) and DJ_Brinny. Keep up the good work you guys! I've decided (on the words of chuey) to make today's update geared to web comix. They never get enough credit, and those who do usually have already lost their charm. By that, I mean that if they were funny, or had some sort of drawing factor, by the time the mass public really gets over to check them out, they've already struck it big with sponsors and lost their humbleness and the general charms that made them worth reading. But that isn't to say this is all of them. No, some still retain their honest quirky outlook which makes up their charm initially anyway. Well it's Novemeber, time for some Thanksgiving and all that ..ergo food and lots of it. Then there's football and that's good ..something about tradition. Well, yet more award shows just keep popping up, and maybe some are for the better, but some are def for the worse. The better? The Commies (Comedy Awards) are better. I've felt that comedy needed some sort of awards for a while now. Even if you didn't, now that you know such an animal exists, doesn't it just seem right? Plus they still pay homage to the originals as well. The bad? The VGAs (Videogame Awards) are bad. They could have made the same show and not shown a single game. It was about TnA and music. ...Of course those that won anything there would disagree with me, but it was still a piece. The in between? The Game Commercial Awards. They are similar to those commercial awards to be sure but it's stricylt for games (I imagine). This isn't a bad thing as they can get fairly creative, and a lil specification isn't at all bad. Although, it IS new and still has yet to prove itself, but I think (hope) it'll get along fine.
That being said I would like to point out that yet another game company hath fallen, Black Isle Studios (as proven here). That's just sad one one level, but perhaps they talent will be distributed amongst the remaining game population ...that would be a good thing, right? I mean one would HOPE that when a company get's bought out or folded that the game talent that WAS there would be put back into the pond. But what can we do, but speculate...

Ok so they're having the very first Video Game Awards thing over at Spike TV. Now as this is great that they finally have a show for the demi-gods and demi-goddesses that are videogame programmers, and idea people, I have a feeling that some of the true classics are going to be left out. As a matter of fact, I'm trying not to think about it. It'll end up being like that star wars debauchle. Wait so long for something, that by the time it comes out you've got it built so high in your mind that it couldn't possible live up to that. Now the common conception I've been hearing is that the awards will be (more than likely) based on looks or on how pretty the game is. I hate to say it, but there's definately more to a game than looks. Great example? Myst. It's a beautiful piece of shit. Beautiful? yes. Fun? no ...Myst is gawd-aweful boring, but I digress. This is what I'm talking about though. Graphics aren't everything. Now what about all the wonderful games that came out before this year??? The have 1 (count em 1) catagory for classic gaming. .......o_O I think you're gonna need quite a few winners for classic gaming! Tempest, Joust, Pac-man, Mario (all of em), Donkey Kong, Mortal Kombat (the first 3), etc.. C'mon man that's just not enough .....*shakes fists* I gotta stop man! I'm gonna get sick over it!! Anywho, I'm gonna post winners and of what Friday as I figure with SpikeTV not even mentioning it under their special shows you probably won't find a list handy. Hopefully it'll be cool ....but I'll give ya rundown Friday ...until then

Well December is on us, and Christmas comes with it. Presents, holliday cheer, sweets, and dreams of sugar plumb fairies. Ok the dreams of sugar plumb fairies is probably just me, but none the less, it's x-mas time. Black Friday was a madhouse as I'm sure you all ran into in some form or another. Stores sold out of everything, and here you are like a schmuck showing up on saturday to do shopping, or coming in at the end of the line. Everything you want is gone and you left standing there looking like a slacker. Bah, even people get trampled during those silly sales.
Anyways. I made a bet with a friend that Wal-Mart didn't sale Quake 3 Arena anymore. He went up there and swore he saw it. I got up there and look for like 15 mins and didn't see a thing. A few nights later we go up to both of the local Wally-Worlds, and in plain site (in both) is the place holder label for Q3A. I'm like _-_ ...so apparently I have to buy us both a copy cause that's what the bet was. bah ...I guess I need to play closer attention. But I'll get him back!! Mark muh words kitten!
